"Mick prides himself on maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare and creating a welcoming environment for owners."
Mick Appleby is widely acknowledged as one of the most talented trainers in the UK, particularly renowned for his exceptional achievements on the All-Weather, where he has secured multiple Champion All-Weather Trainer titles. Originally from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Mick was first introduced to racing by his grandfather, who took him to local tracks such as Pontefract and Doncaster.
After starting as a stable jockey for John Manners and progressing to head lad roles at Roger Curtis and Andrew Balding's Kingsclere Stables, Mick went out on his own in 2010. Highlights include Big Evs winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (2023) and Big Mojo taking the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock. In 2018 alone he trained 94 winners and earned over £930,000 in prize money.
