A Career Built on Winners

Mick Appleby is widely acknowledged as one of the most talented trainers in the UK, particularly renowned for his exceptional achievements on the All‑Weather, where he has secured multiple Champion All‑Weather Trainer titles.

Mick originally came from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and was first introduced to racing by his grandfather, who took him to local tracks such as Pontefract and Doncaster.

Although he became a jockey, he has openly said he "was a very bad jump jockey," which helped steer him toward training earlier in his career.
